Hi! My name is Emma O-R. I am a student at the University of Chicago
studying history. This summer, I am working at special collections and
researching the Mexican Revolution and Adam Smith. I enjoy playing
board games and learning about the British empire.
Normally, I spend most of my time studying and talking to my friends. I
started collecting silly sentences, questions, and exchanges (“quotes”)
in seventh grade, as an ‘apprentice’ to Sybylla H. Originally, she, and
later I, published them as pamphlets at the end of the year.
In 2004, I started a website so that my middle school friends could see
my new collection from my high school. I have been updating it in a
losing battle ever since. In college, the site expanded to include
pages for the colleges of my friends at faraway schools who had also
started collecting quotations.
In 2009, my hosting service, Yahoo Geocities, decided to close down its
service. My boyfriend, Jason Parker, reconstructed Orsquotes with
actual style and editing skills, and found a new home for it. And here
we are!
